I love not having the social media apps on my phone. I really do feel more present in my life since leaving them. I hope you will find yourself more engaged in your real life this summer too!
I agree! Removing social media apps from my phone was a life-saver. I started talking with cashiers at stores, instead of scrolling IG as my purchases were being rung-up. I remember one cashier thanking me for my presence - for being OFF my phone as he rung-up my groceries. That was such an incentive to me. I’ll still look at social media on my laptop, but maybe once a day for a few minutes, if at all. I’ve reclaimed so much time and headspace in my days!
Sarah, I'd love to hear your Substack recommendations! Also, I'm relatively new to Substack so I was wondering how do you save articles to read later? I need to learn to do that! Your plan to delete social media sounds great! Every weekend, when I get my phone "numbers," I'm always encouraged when I see I've used my phone to read more on my Kindle app than to scroll Instagram! Ha! But that said, I do tend to text a lot more than I'd like to! Love this piece of writing from you, as always! 💕
Thank you for sharing, Sarah! I hope you find lots of good books to add to your summer TBR. Your plan to delete social media sounds great, I’ve done a ‘summer break’ for a month or so on summers past and you’re inspiring me to take a summer break again this year!
I won’t be completely off social media for certain reasons, but I plan to completely cut down. I want to read more and get back to practicing piano
I didn't know you played piano! So cool.
Love the sketchbook pages you shared! I’m inspired!
Thank you so much Marni!!

That’s exactly what I’m hoping for. 😍

Time and headspace. That’s exactly what I want. And to just feel engaged with the world again.

Thank you my friend! I’ll definitely share some Substack recs! So much great stuff here that you’ll really love!
In the upper right hand corner of a Substack post, click on the circle with 3 dots. That will give you a menu with an option to save a post. Easy!
